Who is Om Nacho?

Michelle is an Arizona-born and raised, Palestinian-American artist. Nacho is her cat. Not the only pet in the house, but the orangest, the longest companion, and the constant presence over her shoulder every stitch she stitches.

The shop has had a few iterations over the years- it was branded as Goose & Gold from 2019-2022 and was focused on papercraft, hand burned wood items, and etched glassware before closing for a while-Michelle also works full time in the software industry and had to shift focus for a while.

In mid-2023, Michelle finally began her tatreez journey and experienced the joy of not only the Palestinian art form, but the magic of having that community and it quickly took over.

In spring of 2024, the shop was reopened and rebranded as Om Nacho (“Nacho’s mother” in Arabic) with a focus on items related to Palestine, Palestinian tatreez, and the fight for freedom, self-determination, and Right of Return.

100% of profits of purchases from Om Nacho are donated to aid in Gaza. To see where the money goes, or to donate directly without purchasing, see the Fundraising page.
